Baraj (English title: Dam) Med Production and No: 9 Productions, is a Turkish drama series whose first episode was released on March 17, 2020, directed and written by Hasan Tolga Pusat. It is a serial version of the 1977 movie The Dam.

Baraj Synopsis
In this series adaptation of the 1977 movie with the same name, Nazım meets Nehir through an online dating website. The fact that they’ve never seen each other changes with Nehir posting a photo. Because of Nehir’s insistence and fear of losing her, Nazim sends a picture of Tarık, a handsome and flirtatious young man who was banished from his colorful life of Istanbul to the dam construction. Nazim liking the photo of Tarık she’s sent complicates things when he makes a surprise appearance.

Feyyaz Duman as Nazim
Nazım is a foreman in his 40s working in the construction of the dam. Nazım, whose hair has turned white now, but who has matured and become more handsome, is a disciplined, uncompromising, hard-tempered, introverted type. Countless stitches have been put on his face after the hand that he lived, and he thinks that women will not like him because of the scar on his face. Nazim, who met Nehir on social media, messaged him as a friend, but as time passed, he fell in love with her. Nazım Nehir, who fell in love without seeing him, will not like him, so he brings Tarık, the son of the handsome new boss to the construction site, Nehir.

Nehir is a beautiful 25-year-old girl who grew up in an orphanage. Tariq is a rich girl hunter; His last hunt is the famous businessman Kemal’s daughter, who is the apple of his eye. Seeing that Tarık’s daughter has been paid, Kemal sends him to the construction of the dam to pay his debt to him and stay away from his daughter. Tarık, who makes his day with wealth in Istanbul, has a very difficult time in the construction of the dam he came to. Kemal also betrays his foreman, Nazim, who is a disciplined and tough man. Tarık, on the other hand, takes the place of Nazım upon a request, meets with Nehir, and falls in love with him. Tarık never actually believed in love; girls are the way to money for him, but he really fell in love with Nehir.

Zerrin is an attractive and beautiful woman. Zerrin, who is in her 40s, was abandoned by her husband while she was pregnant at the time. Therefore, she has no confidence in men; business is fraud. Zerrin, who has a strong and determined nature and does not like emotionality, wants to do what she can to bring Nehir back.

Zahra is a 25-year-old young and beautiful woman. She has made a marriage that she sees as a formality, but she has no commitment to her husband. She knows how to turn her husband in her hand. The men in the dam construction like her very much, but Zahra has never been able to fall in love with anyone; until Tariq arrives. Zahra is obsessively in love with Tarık.
